DomainK Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 My requirements are internet access, e-mailing, battery life, should be able to handle attachments and MS office documents well. It should also have a decent screen size to read large documents in detail. Not for me, for someone else who spends a great deal of time outside and does not want to carry around a laptop. Its a bit urgent as I need to buy the phone today!

I have never used one, but what about the sms probolems? Can we just buy it from the market and insert a vodafone SIM into it....like any other phone?

All the problems have been solved with a software update (the "problem" was that you couldnt text multiple ppl at the same time.. now u can) You can just buy it from vodafone, or airtel. Just go to your nearest vodafone store, or call them. When you say office, i hope you only mean word/excel/powerpoint etc. I dont think the iphone can read outlook, or access or attachments of that kind...

Well, in fact if it can read MS word, that will do. And no, outlook is not needed, but accessing gmail should be easy. I know that Gmail has a mobile app for accessing gmail, but that is a very restricted version. The reason why I am asking if we can buy it from the market and insert a SIM is, there is a dealer who knows me well enough and is ready to give it to me at convenient installments. BTW is vodafone giving it in installments?

It's very important to handle a phone before you buy it.. you should know whether YOU like it, and find it comfortable/intuitive.. I dont know how vodafone sells the iphone in India... Accessing Gmail is a joke.. to set up your account.. click mail.. click set up new account.. select gmail.. input user/pass... boom! done Your gmail has been set up. Next time you click mail, it'll show you your gmail account and new/old mails. I think you can choose whether you want POP3 or IMAP
