:D and i cant understand y the mumbai fans out here r saying mumbai will win it for the 38th time. incase u guys dont know, delhi is the current defending champion in ranji & also beat mumbai in the last ranji trophy. and talking of players, ur players need to have a quota system to get into the national team whereas delhi players get into the national team on merit. the 2 best test match batsman in 2008 have come from delhi(sehwag & gambhir) and take a look at some of the delhi players - chopra - more than 1100 runs in the last domestic season. should be a part of indian team in tests. ur jaffer got to play tests ahead of chopra due to the quota system dhawan - top scorer in the u-19 wc in 2004 with 505 runs & despite scoring consistently in domestic cricket & for india a isnt getting a chance in the indian team whereas useless players & proven failures like ur rohit sharma r getting in the indian team due to the quota system nanda - broke the back of the indian batting in the irani trophy taking 8 wickets & also had a decent challenger series bhatia - indias loss, delhis gain. has been a consistent performer for delhi sangwan - left arm spinner who had a good u-19 world cup kohli - the captain of the u-19 world cup winning team & also finished among the top 5 run-getters there. also has had an amazing start to his fc career scoring a 104 in a practice match against australia & also made his india debut in odis & threw in a decent performance nehra - former india left-arm fast bowler. had a amazing 2003 wc & took 6-23 against eng to take ind to a win in that match. played a big role in ind making it to the 2003 wc final. also has a top speed of 149.9 kph in odis and just wait for the delhi v mumbai match in ranji trophy this year. we r going to kick u hard this time as well & win the ranji trophy again

Fantastic. For a left arm spinner, he seems to flight the ball beautifully at delightfully low speeds and turn the ball sharply away from the right handers. One thing thats lacking in his game is a quicker arm ball though. You need a delivery that comes back into the right hander, preferrably through the air. An inswinger, you could call it. He should definately be ahead of Ohja in terms of selection to the odi and the test teams. I'm surprised at your in deph knowledge of the team that you support. You're right, he had a great U-19 player. Yes. He was the guy who scored a hundred when Delhi were chasing 230 in their 4th innings to win the trophy. Scored a massive 730 runs in just 5 matches at an average of 91. I don't think Delhi will retain that trophy without him. Delhi will need Dhawan to have a big, coming-of-age type season...

The quarterfinals may not be out of reach just yet, but if the champs continue to play the brand of cricket they have, it just could be. :hehe:

Neither Delhi nor Mumbai gonna win. it will be a some new team. the way saurashtra playing, they can definately win if they keep winning toss and put some big total everytime in the first inning

They really have a good damn batting line up. Pujara and Jadeja have been piling runs on and on in this series. I would not mind some 'unknown' team winning Ranji if not Mumbai :winky: Delhi ne ek baar kya jeet liya, khud ko Mumbai se compare karne lage :hysterical:
