varun Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Dang, not much difference as far as I know. They're both good single malt whiskeys and both pretty good lol. I personally prefer Glenlivet.

Ok, from what I can remember, I'd go for the Glenlivet. It has a nice nose, is quite sweet and smooth on the pallet. The flavours are held in balance (one of my key words when it comes to malt) with a bit of peat (by that I mean a smoky taste) in there, and slightly malty. You can also taste the sherry influence from the casks they use. The Glenfiddich is also nice also. Pine in the body with a subtle taste of pine. If I remember correctly its aged in American Oak, ex bourbon casks (like a lot of malts) but its not an overpowering influence as the casks are left in the open and are fired and scrubbed before ageing.
