Ajinkya Rahane - what else does he need to do to gain the attention of selectors? I'm always baffled why selectors and commentators don't talk about him much. There is talk about Cheteshwar Pujara, S Badrinath.... even Suresh Raina got a chance in tests despite having a very modest first class record. What has Rahane done wrong? This guy has a first class batting average of 64!!! Better than Pujara, Badri, Rohit Sharma, Raina or anyone else on the fringes. Why is he always ignored? He now even has a hundred against the touring Aussies.... that too a run-a-ball knock.

Pujara averages 60 in FC & 57 in List A cricket, and has played more matches than Rahane. So he deserves his chance above Rahane.

Pujara haven't got a look in yet.He will be there after the retirement of our "Greats" and rahane will be the next in the line, and way ahead of Nohit for sure. I would rather see Badri than Rohit Sharma in the squad.Future stars of Indian team should be : Raina Kohli Rahane Pujara Badrinath They have done really well in Domestic circuit and so i expect these 5 to be the part of out playing XI in the near future.

There are some plyers who without hogging the limelight, keep piling on the runs and move ahead of many other illustrious and more famous peers after one career changing knock. Hopefully for Rahane, this 100 was that moment. Its upto him to seize the opportunity now. Do well first in the Irani Trophy and then in the upcoming Challenger Trophy and there is no way the selectors will ignore his claim.

on what basis ? because rahane is better batsman than Rohit or is it Rohits ethics (lack of it) attitude etc If we are only talking about batting skills Rohit is a far superior batsman than badri, kohli even to an extent Raina

And temprment and work ethic wise, he is the worst amongst the younger generation. Unless he improves on tht front, he can never have a long and successful international career.

badri's 29 didn't impress the in the home series against the south africans i guess we have seen the last of him selectors eyeing youngsters
