Do people still use them:omg:
Yes, a lot of people do. Still there are people stuck with old office laptops. The office refuses to upgrade and they refuse to spend money from their own pocket.:D

Audacity- Audio editing software Audacity® is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems. Learn more about Audacity... Also check our Wiki and Forum for more information. The latest release of Audacity is 1.3.6 (Beta). Because it is a work in progress and does not yet come with complete documentation or translations into foreign languages, it is recommended for more advanced users. See New Features in 1.3 for more information about the 1.3.x Beta series. I have never used it personally. Click here to download/more information.

any good PDF creator - convert .docx' date=' .doc, .pptx etc to .pdf (instead of expensive "Adobe Acrobat")[/quote'] Try PDFCreator. It is open source and installs as a virtual printer on your machine. You can then convert documents of any application that has "print" option to PDF. I have used it since last 5 years. To split/merge pdf documents, try PDF Split & Merge.

Learning flash and then making it might not be a great idea.
