Both teams made one change to their starting XIs from the first match in Queenstown on Wednesday which was abandoned due to rain. New Zealand named off-spinner Jeetan Patel in place of seamer Mark Gillespie while the West Indies swapped Daren Powell for Lionel Baker in their pace bowling lineup. Shivnarine Chanderpaul remained unavailable to the tourists because of a hand injury. The match started in fine conditions but under the threat of rain. "Taking the conditions into consideration we decided to bowl," Gayle said. "But we're not going to play for the weather, just play our best game and hope to win." New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori was happy to bat first. "We were going to have a bat," he said. "Traditionally it's a good batting deck and if it wasn't for the weather forecast we wouldn't hesitate to bat first." ___ Lineups: New Zealand: Brendon McCullum, Jesse Ryder, Jamie How, Ross Taylor, Daniel Flynn, Jacob Oram, Grant Elliot, Daniel Vettori (captain), Kyle Mills, Jeetan Patel, Tim Southee.
