Macj Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Like the ascent of Mustafa Kemal from the ashes of the Ottoman Empire who took on forces much more powerful, Pakistan needs a man who can hold a leash on the Islamists and forge a new army that will safeguard a secular principle. Turkey's army is the guardian of Ataturk's fiercely secular legacy, that scoffs and stifles any radical Islamic growth, dislodged the office of the Caliph, heck even changed the name of Allah to Tanri. I thought way back in 99 that Mushy would be such a leader..... forgot hes a Paki after all.
gs Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 or Pak can just annihilate itself and save the world from its misery :giggle:

suraj Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 What Pakistan really needs is 1) Look within itself and get rid of false bravado that they can take on the whole of world 2) Try to solve its real problems- poverty, religious extremism, illetracy, corruption etc etc instead of constantly trying to find India's faults- it really comes across as pathetic inferiority complex that while such a huge difference exists between the 2 neighbouring countries all of Pakistan hangs on to every little tidbit of negative news from India to console themselves that they are somehow better off than India 3) Try to progress socially and economically instead of the obsession to convert India into an Islamic state & liberating their "Muslim brothers" in Kashmir and solving every problem in India by use of its terrorist camps. Unfortunately while the first 2 may still be possible (remote possibility) I really have no hopes for 3) happening because the "Muslim identitiy" and "Islamic ideology to the extreme" vs. national identity are primary for the citizens not only in Pakistan but also in many other Islamic nations. More unfortunately without 3), 1) and 2) are not going to happen too so end result situation os hopeless for Pakistan. Q.E.D
