multani
Saqlain Mushtaq, considered by some to be one of the greatest spinners to hail from Pakistan, if not the cricketing empire. The enchanting legacy of Saqlain seems like one that he did not live up to his potential. The knee injury sustained by him clearly ended his career. Many bowlers have tried to copy his action. For instance, the Pakistani captain Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez have clearly based their actions on Saqlain Mushtaq. Quite a clever bowler and the pioneer of the 'Doosra', which the likes of Murali and Harbhajan have acknowledged, what is one thing you recall of this great bowler? Link to comment
Rajiv
A great spinner in late 90s, a fodder for 6 hitting in 2004 An incomplete career Link to comment
DomainK
Saqi was a great spinner and I think his career ended prematurely not because of an injury, but because of an indifferent PCB. Link to comment
punjabi_khota
I tried imitating his action. I remember "Well bowled, Saqii!!!!!' very clearly. Link to comment

Sachin_Rulez
Great ODI bowler. Last thing I remember of him was getting smashed by Sehwag (when saqi promised to unleash his teesras and choutahs) that eventually ended his career in multan test 2004 :winky: Link to comment

Last thing I remember of him was getting smashed by Sehwag (when saqi promised to unleash his teesras and choutahs) that eventually ended his career in multan test 2004 :winky: Yeah......that series effectively sealed his international career. Sehwag tore him apart. But I think that was just a bad series for a good bowler against a team reputed for playing spinners well. He deserved a few more chances after that. Not that PCB found a quality spinner to replace him....just that they didnt care. Link to comment
PaiN_KiLLeR
A terrific off-spinner without doubt. But I don't think his career lasted long enough for him to to be counted as one of the all time greats. I'll remember him as the only player to be verbally abused by Sachin in his 2 decade long career. Link to comment

graphic23
Great bowler no doubt - and was quite modest when questioned about Sachin's dismissal in that match (I think Rajeev mentioned this sometime). Unfairly had this career cut short. Link to comment
suraj
Unfortunately I missed out on that phase of cricket and don't remember much about his bowling His name only brings the images of a "big beard" and doosra, teesra and chautha words to mind Link to comment
Macj
What do I remember of him, he wore a full beard. Link to comment
