Mr. Wicket Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Just pulled off a freaking AWESOME chicken hakka noodle dish in that style yesterday for dinner. :yay: :yay:
Ram Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I know you're quite secretive about your receipes sometimes, but for the sake of us 'Cheese Pizza and Diet Coke' guys, it will be greatly appreciated if you can make an exception this time.. :D Btw, I read somewhere that Hakka noodles arent exactly perfect for health. Is that just untrue?
Lurker Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I do. Awesome. Actually I am trying to forget them since I cant find them here. Do share the recipe if you can. Also for folks who really do miss Hakka Noodles should try the Double Fried Noodles at PF Chang. I can make a mean mean Chicken Chilly, ekdam Bombay thella style..:winky:

Mr. Wicket Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 I know you're quite secretive about your receipes sometimes' date=' but for the sake of us 'Cheese Pizza and Diet Coke' guys, it will be greatly appreciated if you can make an exception this time.. :D[/quote'] I don't give most of my recipes out for the reason that I'm incredibly selective when the quality/freshness of ingredients and seasonings are concerned, so most of the time other people who follow the same directions won't come up with the same result. That, and it's useless to you seeing as you're a vegetarian. :P Although cheese pizza and diet coke? Jeebus, didn't I pass on a couple of basic Italian sauce and pasta methods? :D As far as the lack of health benefits, meh. It tastes freaking great, so I'm happy with it once in a while. Still probably isn't as bad for me as the duck confit/cassoulet dinner I had a few days ago where I could feel my arteries slowly clogging with each bite of duck. :--D

Mr. Wicket Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Dynasty used to be very very good a while back - when I visited Bombay last year I went back there and was very disappointed. Golden Orchid is a relatively new one up in Bandra (been around the last 2-3 yrs) that's excellent... also Great Wall in the Leela hotel up north used to be stellar, but haven't been there in an age.
ludhianvi Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 There are like 3/4 Hakka style restaurants nearby...They are always packed. When I pass by those restaruants, I always wonder what is so special. I shrug and keep walking until the next time :D
