Mr. Wicket
I think Pak is actually better off without a captain...that way they will all co-operate instead of instigating intrigues. :haha::haha::haha::haha::haha: Pakistani cricketers cooperating? Hell, with no captain we'll see insanely selfish guys like Rameez Raja really flourish, everyone playing political games for the #3-4 batting spots and nobody wanting to open or be down in the order. Oh that would be FUN... Link to comment
cochise
Hmmmm...yes, you could be right. Well, there is only one thing for it. They need someone completely out of the Paki mould...it has to be a foreigner...no other way. Tatenda Taibu is a good candidate. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Nope. The scenarios all fail, given the nature of their cricketers. Given the talk about people underperforming at times to undermine captains, or others forming camps and cliques in teams against other skippers, nothing would work. If someone like Taibu was magically put in as captain, Eunice and friends would start with the political games again to try and oust him, others would play the religious cards and again try to move back to the beard = selection days, and others like Malik and Akhtar would get upset about not having the captaincy. The same scenario's unfolded plenty of times when any furriner's been coach and a whole lot of Paki ex-players and players have done the same thing. If you give the captaincy to one of the team, it still doesn't work as we've seen over and over again. If you don't give the captaincy to anyone, everyone would start playing politics with each other in their quest to get the job. Fontaine's right. Lobotomize em. Link to comment
cochise
Damn...there has to be a way. Back to the drawing board. Link to comment
cochise
Okay...okay...I have it now...this is a masterstroke of genius and will fix the Pak team's internecine quarelling, plotting, backstabbing and scheming. Remember Shoaib Akhtar and the stuffed leopard toy? How totally satisfied and almost unworldly his outlook was? We need something like that for each member of the team...in fact the Captain can have one too, if he winds up scheming against himself. Say...give Moyo a Yo-yo...he will be nicely pre-occupied and keep his hand eye-coordination a happening as well. Moyo out of the problem equation. Now, the others also need some toys especially selected for them to achieve that state of undisturbed bliss...and away from all intrigues...it can be done I tell you. Maybe that is what Eunice is alluding too with the magic wands? Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Give each player a special toy for themselves? You're nuts. It doesn't work with children in kindergarten for very long, why would it work with such malcontents? In keeping with Pakistani cricket traditions, each one will want someone else's toy. There goes the undisturbed bliss. :--D Link to comment
cochise
Oh shyte! I forgot about toy envy! Hmmmm....this is a hard nut to crack. Link to comment
Fontaine
Why do you think the PCB looks the other way when clowns like Asif are getting their high on? Seriously, if you had to be in a team full of losers, and jerks who had no concept of team unity then you would need your fix too to relax. Is it any wonder that guys like Razzaq/yousuf chose the money in ICL rather than playing for their nation with these idiots? Link to comment
