India in NZ, 2009 : What do you think?

Praveen Kumar, in my opinion, should play in NZ in the ODI series. His ability to swing the ball, will go well in NZ. I am also thinking Jaffer will come as the 3rd opener. Pujara is young, raw and an amazing batsmen, but I think the seletors will not pick him as he is unlikely to play, the same with Vijay who I was impressed with vs Australia. Jaffer is a class opener, and should anything happen to Sehwag or Gambhir, he could fit right in. My prediction is that the old heads will score heavily in NZ - Dravid, Tendulkar and Laxman. These 3 are seasoned pros, played and scored everywhere in the world, on every surface. Weather will play a part, this is NZ in March/April. Expect rain. Expect cold.

In which month does NZ have no less cold hand rain? When we went there in January years back, same thing happened. Do you ever have hot (relatively) weather in NZ?
If there are grounds that will suit PK then NZ is "THE" place ....
For ODIs it can be but for tests you still need bowlers who can utilise old ball and PK has failed miserably in that department.

does anybody know if rp is going to be fit?-atleast for selection.
R.P. Singh at the NCA Bangalore: R.P. Singh reported to the National Cricket Academy for an assessment of his recovery from a shoulder injury that hindered his performance in the concluding phase of the recent Ranji Trophy season. The left-arm seamer will be at the academy for three days while Munaf Patel, afflicted with a groin injury, continued his rehabilitation process. Virat Kohli left for Mumbai after making adequate recovery from his shoulder strain. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Hmm.. it'll be quite tricky for the selection committee. Will they be able to choose either RPS or Munaf even if they pass fit? Because neither of them have any match practice. Munaf's case is a bit easier as his was just a groin niggle. But will the shoulder injury affect RPS's swin and pace?

nz have a decent batting line-up and a great bowling attack vettori, mills, obrien, southee and ryder, elliot it would be very challenging for the indians to play them, more so because of the conditions and the inexperience of our odi squad in nz

He is fully fit and was decent in the Duleep final on a track which had absolutely nothing for a fast bowler. Secondly PK is not a test the test bowler. Read the reasons given below. He can go in the ODI squad but is absolutely useless for a test.
Yes he has the ability to move the ball. But what'll happen when the ball becomes old? Does he have the ability to move an old ball? If yes, where has he shown it? A bowler can't be chosen for a test to bowl first 5-8 overs and then sit idle for the rest of the inning.

we shld have parthiv in place of kartik, what do u think amits !!!

we shld have parthiv in place of kartik' date=' what do u think amits !!![/quote'] that would be equal to gift-wrapping the series & giving it to nz. we did that last time in sl when having parthiv in the xi for 3rd test meant ind lost. parthiv beings an inevitable "curse of parthiv" with himself

dinesh kartik is the best wicket-keeper we have in terms of keeping ability in india. parthiv patel is there only bcoz of the quota-system

So anyone you don't like is quota. Do you know that Karthik has the excellent record of giving away the most byes (against Pakistan in Bangalore, the one series/match where Dhoni wasn't available because of injury). MSD is our best wicket-keeper. :P

:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Oh god, are you serious? The same muppet who couldn't hold an edge off Kumble the last time he was standing up to the stumps, even if you gave him a bucket? The same joker who probably received Christmas cards from Jayawardene after the series for all the lives he offered, and you think he's the best keeper in India? Even Parthiv's better.
