Sachinism Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has admitted the presence of the Taliban in large parts of the country and that the militant group was trying to take over Pakistan. In an interview to an American news channel, which would be aired this Sunday, Zardari said, "Taliban has presence in huge amounts of our land. Yes, that is the fact." Zardari also said Pakistan had been in denial about the Taliban in the past. "We have weaknesses and they are taking advantage of that weakness," he said. Zardari also rejected suggestions that he lacks the full support of the military and intelligence. "If that was the case, Islamabad would have fallen to the Taliban," said Zardari. ---- NDTV === It really is only a matter of time At least they admit of the problem

So Taliban now is present and ruling as close as 80 kms from Islamabad. How long will it take them to cross those 80kms and take possession of the nukes?

Musa Khan's killing comes two days after the Pakistan government signed an agreement with militants to restore Sharia law in Swat valley. Musa Khan Khel was shot dead in the Matta area of Swat, considered a stronghold of the local Taliban, PTI reported. Khan Khel had gone to the area to cover talks expected to be held between Taliban leader and hardliner cleric Maulana Sufi Mohammad, whose organisation has reached an agreement with the North West Frontier Province government on enforcing Sharia law in Swat and in parts of the province. Earlier, Mohammad led hundreds of his supporters in a march to Matta. He was expected to hold talks with local Taliban leader Maulana Fazalullah, who is also Mohammad's son-in-law, to convince the militants to lay down arms. "We announce the sad news that the Geo TV correspondent in Swat was assassinated by unidentified gunmen," an anchor on Geo News announced. "We demand that the government trace the killers and punish them," the anchor said. No group claimed responsibility for the killing. Khan Khel was the second journalist to be shot dead in Swat valley in three months. Information minister Sherry Rehman condemned Khan Khel's murder and said the killers would be brought to justice.

Who cares what Pak thinks. This is our country and we decide what action to take based on the circumstances and whats in our best interests
