Ram
It’d be interesting to know which authority in Lanka decided to give the go-ahead to the Pakistan tour. Obviously, the Home ministry (if there is one there) and the Lankan board was involved. But its clear as daylight that touring Pakistan right now is akin to walking blindfolded on a minefield. How come the Lankan authorities be irresponsible enough to directly jeopardize the lives of their national cricketers? They were lucky that the cricketers escaped with minor wounds. Imagine what could have happened had the repercussions been more dire? Also, the Lankan players would be furious that their home govt. and board decided to gamble with their security. Pakistan right now is as lawless as you can imagine a nation to be. Their govt. is powerless as it silently watches external forces bomb its border areas with impunity. Large swathes of the country are under the control of the Taleban and yet Lanka decided to send a team for a cricket tour? The only conclusion one can draw from this is perhaps the PCB and Lanka BCCSL decided to send some sort of defiant message to BCCI by going ahead when India refused to do so. They must be thanking their stars that this didn’t end in a more disastrous fashion. Link to comment
suraj
Hindsight is always 20-20 they were relying on the assumption that even the most pathetic country will be able to channelize all its resources to protect those who were doing it a huge favor by visiting it. Link to comment
goose
BCCI paid SL to tour the country and fake the whole attack to defame Pakistan. Link to comment
