TumTum Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Did not even make the aussie ridiculosly big squad of 17. Flopped against England for aus A with a jumpy 2. He could still play in the Ashes even if he is not in the squad. And there is a high chance of that seeing as Katich has injury problems. :finger: Hughes haters. Hughes
Ranjha Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 wow..I thought Hughes was in the squad...silly me
King Tendulkar Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 He cant play short ball at all. His innings against SA were full of luck, kept slashing through slips, gully and point and getting away with it. He is not the future The future is it?:--D
gaurav92 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 [Wicky] He is still a kid Katie in his early 20s, give him some ****ing time,he is definitely a Legend in the making.Oz are declining to a new low, and this guy can be the perfect basement for their future Test Team, so draft him consistently in the side and let him perform.[/Wicky]
King Tendulkar Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 ^ No chance. He is tragic against short ball. Watch those toms against SA, they were so lucky. Ball kept flying at catching height through slips and gully, so lucky to keep slicng them in to gaps!
Bradman99 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 He has a lot of work to do, but he's got raw talent. He'll make it, just not sure if he will quite live up to the hype.
King Tendulkar Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Awful knock again. Future my back side!!!
gaurav92 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 KT you never miss a chance to demean someone's prediction:phehehe:
Number Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 ^ KT bhai has been victim himself so many times on this thing.
Cricket Tragic Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 OP's sig :woot: Twenty20 and IPL in particular have appealed to a lower common denominator, a type of fan who normally would not have either the patience, understanding or intelligence to follow and appreciate the other formats of the game... When you look at what's happened because of IPL, it's clear the fan base has increased - but probably the overall IQ of these fans hasn't changed too much ... we have hundreds more fans now who'll worship Yuvraj on both knees because he can hit six sixes and is "cho chweet".
gaurav92 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 ^The poster was incredibly funny. Salil The Legend :hatsoff:
Crookbond Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Phil Hughes' last 39 balls against spin this series: . . w . . w . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . w . . . . . .. . w via Cricinfo I love the future for Hughes in India! :yay:
carnish Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Phil Hughes' last 39 balls against spin this series: . . w . . w . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . w . . . . . . . . w I love the future for Hughes in India! :yay: He got a run in the first ball he faced against Ashwin in the first innings of 1st test.
Crookbond Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 He got a run in the first ball he faced against Ashwin in the first innings of 1st test. Last 39 balls don't include that, I guess.
carnish Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Last 39 balls don't include that' date=' I guess.[/quote'] You wrote against spin this series ... If you aint counting that ball, then write that you are excluding the first ball he faced in this series. I havent counted the balls he has faced, but he did get a run against Ashwin in the Chennai test. Will find it out.
CG Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 He is a walking wicket. Its all he is.He will be exposed by short ball again in ashes.
Sooda Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Khwaja will be in next test im sure. He seems like sound bat.
carnish Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Last 39 balls don't include that' date=' I guess.[/quote'] Okay, I got your point and you're right. Sorry, just didn't read the word 'Last'
Ultimate_Game Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 As long as Hughes keeps on relying on horizontal shots against spin (cut & sweep) he will continue to struggle. On a turning track with inconsistent bounce those are the last shots you should play.
