ODI and Test Series Win in NZ 2009

Recommended Posts

If we Manage to win ODI and Test series in NZ... this will be a historical win... we have never managed to win an ODI series in NZ against NZ... we are on the verge of creating a sort of History..... Will this Series win Put Dhoni ahead of Ganguly as the Best captain of India... IMO Dhoni is well ahead of Ganguly.... in terms of winning % on ODIs and Tests so far... Ganguly's crown is surely going to be taken away from Dhoni.... if it has not happened yet..

dhoni might become the most successful captain, but ganguly will always remain the best.he inherited a team in match fixing scandal, too much dependent on sachin n converted into a winning team that started to win overseas n look the others in the eye. dhoni OTOH inherited a champion just out of focus n disunited, the focus is back, the unity is back n we r getting expected results

:hysterical: Uh, in what planet did Dhoni inherit a champion team? They were coming off a disastrous WC campaign where their best batsmen were in a slump or nearing retirement age while our fast bowlers were nowhere apart from Zaheer and just gotten beat in the ODI series in England while Dravid had stepped down from the captaincy. It's only in the last year or so that guys like Ishant/Gambhir/Raina/Y Pathan etc have come to the party. When Dhoni took over the captaincy he was still stuck with guys like Dravid/Ganguly/Murali and Dinesh Karthik with zero fast bowling prospects apart from Zaheer and no Sehwag either. It was only in Australia that he finally got the team HE wanted with guys like P Kumar, Ishant, and younger players in the side and the team has gained tremendous success. Apart from 5/6 players, it's a totally different team to what he orginally inherited.
