Sachinism
India have batted pretty well, they've blocked the good balls, picked up the odd singles and got the rare boundary, but they've hit many good shots that deserved boundaries but were unable to find the gaps. Whats the reason for this, are the Kiwi batsmen better than ours at finding the gaps? Have they had better field placing than India? Not finding the gaps must have a psychological effect on the batsmen. The rare boundary ball comes along and they can't put it away Link to comment
fineleg
kiwi fielders are 10x better than desi fielders in pouncing and preventing runs Link to comment

pan_walla
Indians aim for the gaps and in this test are missing. NZ players are just whacking the ball and in this test got lucky with the gaps :-) Link to comment

NZ players are just wacking the ball and in this test got luck with the gaps :-) That is true, they did have a lot of luck, a lot, but there were some very good placed shots, I guess we did have fielders in the wrong places or our bowlers couldn't bowl to their fields, which is disappointing there is a big gap between fineleg's ears..players should play shots in that region. :giggle: Link to comment

cochise
As per the topic...Kiwi ground fielding was excellent and the field was well placed too to cut off the singles and cover the favourite boundary scoring areas of the players. They have studied our batsmen well. Our fielding has let us down in this match and got us to where we are. Is Robin Singh still fielding coach? He has got to get the boys back into some kind of fielding form for the next match. This is costing us bigtime now. Link to comment
fineleg
maybe time to replace robin singh (if he's still there?), with someone else - garyK can recommend a good fielding coach Link to comment
