graphic23
hitting 4s & 6s has nothing to do with captaincy. hitting 4s & 6s doesnt make a player a good captain. its captaincy skills which make a player a good captain. and sehwag' date=' doesnt seem to have those. gambhir is the best option we have for delhi daredevils captaincy[/quote'] Your logic is astounding. ViruRulez
I agree now.. enough of pathetic decisions by Veeru Gambhir, Vettori or De Villiers should be tried as captain instead now.. Veeru has hardly led from the front whenever he has captained any side.. most of his decisions have been pathetic .. he needs to concentrate on his form instead

ViruRulez
Where the heck is Glenn McGrath ? :hitler: This is also irritating me like anything .... 4 matches and McGrath has not been tried even once .. I am sure McGrath is still a lot better than Nannes ... at least give him a chance in a match but Veeru seems to be going on his own terms .. I would also like to see Dave Warner play in a match .. I have heard a lot about Dave Warner and would like to see if he is really good
amits
glenn mcgrath has to be there. he is better than nannes. also, sehwag should not be a part of those who select the xi & should play only as a batsman with gambhir captaining

amits
i just want to :whack: the person who decided to make sehwag the captain of delhi in the ipl after his pathetic & irresponsible captaincy in the 2nd test in nz. totally pathetic & irresponsible captaincy by sehwag today. he has to be the worst captain of the ipl, even worser than harbhajan of last year. the fact that delhi have won some matches have been due to the fact that the team has been so good, but even a great team with a **** captain can become a poor team as we saw today. and a poor team with a great captain can become a great team as we have been seeing with rajasthan royals in ipl. some blunders by sehwag so far - 1. not giving mcgrath & warner a game 2. sending in manhas at 7, when he should come at 5. i cant understand what does sehwag has against manhas. even ma-no-hope tiwary got so many matches over him & failed to make any impression even in 1 match. we happen to be treating manhas the same way csk have treated badrinath. manhas has made 49 runs so far at a sr of 168.96(26* off 13 balls against brc & 23* off 16 balls against rr) 3. not giving vettori any over in the 1st 12 overs. if he & mishra come together from both ends after the 1st 6-8 overs, things could have been different and there r some more as well 4. Tics, amits has stated some very valid points that refer to VS' captaincy- what is your counterpoint on them without bringing his batting and false bravado into play?? amits
@cricketics, a good batsman does not necessarily make a good captain. altahoguh delhi daredevils will win, but it will be gambhir whose captaincy will win us the ipl also u seem to be very anti-dinesh kartik when he has been excellent behind the stumps
Cricketics
Tics, amits has stated some very valid points that refer to VS' captaincy- what is your counterpoint on them without bringing his batting and false bravado into play?? here you go 1. not giving mcgrath & warner a game ABD and Dilshan have been great for us. and Vettori has been exceptional in bowling, so there isn't really any place for Warner rite now. Regarding Mcgrath. Just like how Shaun Pollock decided to not to play for Mumbai, same thing would have happend to Delhi. Mcgrath, after his wife's death was thinking of not coming back to Delhi team as he won't be able to play and wasn't much fit either. Now as he's back, Sehwag is giving him the desired rest. and he would eventually come into play for Delhi. 10 matches left only 4 have been played. We can't play him in all games. He is way to old for a fast bowler. 2. sending in manhas at 7, when he should come at 5. i cant understand what does sehwag has against manhas. even ma-no-hope tiwary got so many matches over him & failed to make any impression even in 1 match. we happen to be treating manhas the same way csk have treated badrinath. manhas has made 49 runs so far at a sr of 168.96(26* off 13 balls against brc & 23* off 16 balls against rr) He just wanted to try Vettori, who is a pretty good bat and did a decent job for us today. May be the right-left combo to disturb and irritate the oppostions. 3. not giving vettori any over in the 1st 12 overs. if he & mishra come together from both ends after the 1st 6-8 overs, things could have been different Mishra was bowling really well and had taken wickets. You can't expect Vettori to bowl any better then how Mishra was bowling. He decided to save him for the last 8 overs when our seamers were expected to go for runs. Unfortunately it didn't happen.. He is way to old for a fast bowler. So, do you say Kumble, Hayden, Gilchrist, Warne etc. are pathetic players as they are old .. check the stats before making your point. Secondly, McGrath told in every interview during the matches that he is raring to go. It is not that he does not want to play. If he would not have wanted to play then he would have not come to the IPL or would have just declared himself unfit like Fleming, Pollock etc. did... McGrath has instead said that he is raring to go whenever he gets the chance in the IPL .. anyways Nannes is not bowling exceptional that he needs to be continued. 3. not giving vettori any over in the 1st 12 overs. if he & mishra come together from both ends after the 1st 6-8 overs, things could have been different Mishra was bowling really well and had taken wickets. Vettori should have been tried at the other end early on .. Mishra is not bad but Vettori could have dent an even bigger hole in the RR batting lineup if he was brought previously .. it was stupid of Veeru to bring him against Yusuf when he himself knows that YKP is excellent against spinners. Cricketics
Viru rulez. You read my whole post, and didn't really make out the correct meaning of "he is very old for a fast bowler" That means, Sehwag wants to give him rest. As much as he wants. It's good. No one is talking about stats..
