Zimbabwe tour not cancelled but is put on hold, says BCCI

The BCCI has decided to cancel India's planned tour of Zimbabwe scheduled for later in the year, giving the Indian cricketers a break ahead of September's ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa. The tour of Zimbabwe was scheduled to take place after India's short ODI series in West Indies following the ICC World Twenty20 in June. "The visit to Zimbabwe was planned but has been dropped now as it was to involve three teams. They will have to find the third team for the series to be held," BCCI secretary N Srinvasan said. South Africa were announced as the third team for the triangular series by Srinivasan in a media communication earlier but Cricket South Africa stated it had never planned to participate in the proposed event. India's cricketers are currently involved in the IPL, and will then take part in the ICC World Twenty20 in England, running from June 5 to 21. "We will have a ODI series afterwards in the West Indies, comprising four or five matches, and then will take part in the ICC Champions Trophy," Srinivasan said. He also announced India's rather packed playing schedule following the team's return from South Africa. India will host the Champions Twenty20 League - cancelled last year in the aftermath of the Mumbai terror attacks - and play a seven-match ODI series against Australia at home. Sri Lanka are scheduled to visit India for a full Test and ODI series, after which India would tour Bangladesh in January. "On our return we would host South Africa," Srinivasan said.
Source Very good news. Not that I want the # of cricketing nations to deplete but we really shouldn't be playing against Zimbabwe at the moment. Another advantage I see is maybe this will stop Peter Roebuck from mentioning how India is a tyrant nation for supporting Zimbabwe in every article he write from now on.

it is really quite boring to be playing against SL again and again .. but this time it might be a different ball game all together because Malinga is looking quite devastating nowadays and their fast bowling will improve .. Malinga is almost a sure shot entry in the SL national team after IPL
