ViruRulez Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Meanwhile SL president has confirmed on Times Now personally that Prabhakaran and all other top LTTE leaders are dead India has also pledged support to SL in reconstruction of the destroyed regions by the war and has also told that they will provide financial aids for rehabilitation of SL tamils
ViruRulez Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Now we need to put this behind asap. Especially for SL. I agree.. India should keep a close eye now .. they should make sure that SL tamils get their rights .. India should keep up the pressure on SL to give equal rights to SL tamils and to act for their economic developement.. the pressure should not be stopped until SL govt. gives the SL tamils equal rights.
Macj Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Hope and I really hope SL is magnanimous in victory, else another even worse serpent will rise. Case in point Treaty of Versailles and the subsequent rise of the 3rd Reich, in this case it may not be on the same scale though. In any event, even Tamils despised the LTTE.
Rajan Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I know a bit of the LTTE history and the apathy of the SL govt towards SL tamils then .. but that was 40 years ago .. the present SL govt. seems to be more commited and there is more international pressure now .. so it would be difficult to not give equal rights .. and if it is not given by any chance then there should be non-violent protests instead of violence .. the world is watching and so it will not be able to lie easily now yes u r 100% correct. they just killed around 40,000 innocent civilians in the last 2 months by bombing. the whole world was watching.
Kohum Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Arms win a battle - never a cause. Prabhakaran proved this. Don't know how many civilians have died. I hope the SL government accounts for this in the rehabilitation program.

Macj Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Look at this : What is truly shameful here is Pirabaharan and Soosai are the only ones who look old enough to hold a rifle , the rest are demur and small enough to be children. ****ing shameful.
Desi Cartman Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 yes u r 100% correct. they just killed around 40' date='000 innocent civilians in the last 2 months by bombing. the whole world was watching.[/quote'] A Sri Lankan Tamil told me it was 25000 till yesterday so did they kill 15000 in 1 day ? btw do you also blame LTTE for innocents being killed or you think only SL govt is responsible
Macj Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 This is the exact point in time the SL issue started - they pushed humiliation and suppression down the throats of the Tamils.
Ram Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 As much as this is a trivial piece of news for us, I think this is the single most significant piece of news for the Sri Lankan people. Without Prabhakaran, there is no Tamil Liberation movement. Unlike the Al-Qaeda or the Iraqi insurgent groups which operated on the basis of distributed, de-centralized leadership, the LTTE main driving force was Prabhakaran. Without him, the Tamil movement is as good as dead. Now, what this holds for the Lankan people, especially the Tamils, no one knows. Its possible that this could be the best to have happened to ‘em. Only history will tell.

siddhu Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 wow, wish we can also clear terrorists/pakis from pak occupied kashmir... but that will be just a dream... If we can make the LOC as international border.. that will be good enough. Just make it international border and prosecute those who try to cross over... that will be a dream come true
punjabi_khota Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 :hahaha:@Eeeelam and Karunanidhi's 2 hours fast.
