I have a question - how do companies which make browsers make money? For things like IE, Chrome I can understand - they are advertising their base product as well. But Firefox/Opera/former Netscape? The browsers are free distributions.

I think Amazon and others have something similar too. Firefox made like 80 or some million dollars in profit last year! brb, making a web browser :cantstop:

So if I buy a book based on a google search from Amazon, Amazon will pay google because I used their search engine(understandable), but then google will also pay Firefox because I used Firefox to browse google? I might as well start using lynx.

It's memory consumption is crap as before. But it's fast. ADblock plus is missing. :(( so did my version of mouse gestures. But found new gestures. At the least, it doesn't hang every 10/15 minutes like 3.0.10 used to.

Strange. Because ABP is working for me. But I had a strange experience. My flash player was working fine for sometime after installing 3.5, but then it just disappeared. I had to download and install again.

I upgraded to firefox 3.5 yesterday. Ran fine and was abit faster than usual. Today, i was prompted to update my extensions like adblock plus etc. While doing it, everything crashed and i got blue screen in windows and my computer never restarted after that. It could be a coincidence that my comp crapped out at the exact same time as this but i would suggest people to hold off their upgrade till its well established. Since its a work comp, i threw that away and got a new desktop. updating vista right now.

Strange. I think it is a coincidence. I had no trouble at all in upgrading FF or ABP on my home PC. But now that I have heard this, I will wait before upgrading it on my laptop.
