DomainK Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 I can not really understand why PCB has not yet got some other specialist wicket keeper. They can play Akmal as a batsman, but why as a keeper? How many drops will it take for this to get into their think heads? Are they really that dumb?
ali0786 Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 He did a really good job behind the stumps in T20 WC, looked like he was gonna continue it. I think if he makes more mistakes, he might get dropped. I mean, Danish Kaneria, Pakistan's main spin bowler in test matches played 38 consecutive tests for Pakistan since 2004 was dropped today by Younis Khan...so Akmal better be careful here.

T20 is different from test match cricket. If your selectors have not yet realized that, replace them first. Akmal has cost Pakistan uncountable number of tests by dropping sitters. How many more do they want?
ali0786 Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 We're all frustrated by him...I'm pretty sure though that if this continues Younis Khan will make sure Akmal is dropped from keeping wickets.
Sooda Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 What about that guy Zulqarnain? Wasnt he supposed to be a good young keeper...?
MUMBAISKIPPER Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 there were another 2 guys..humayun and sarfraz ahmed..both were pathetic

DomainK Posted July 4, 2009 Author Posted July 4, 2009 If the wicket keeper in my school team had dropped one like Kamran did today, the coach would have asked him to take 100 rounds around the field and then he would have found another keeper. This is just inexcusable stuff.
Nash Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 As a batsman he is best among pakistanis. i dont rate him as wicket keeper dravid is better than him
DomainK Posted July 4, 2009 Author Posted July 4, 2009 As a batsman he is best among pakistanis. i dont rate him as wicket keeper dravid is better than him Then he should bat only and stay as far away from the gloves as he can.
cowboysfan Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 specailist Wicket keeper's are dead.teams prefer WK's who can really bat and hence we see selections like katmal, haddin, prior etc.
Nash Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 wrong mate. specialist keeper is must. At least batsman should given an training for keeper.. If you drop 2 catches the u r done with match even thought he is very good batsman.. keeping skills is a required aspect .. that the reason why dhoni is best available choice for india even he is not in a good stiker now days because nobody else can do better wicket keeping then him.. parthiv and karthick both are better than kamran IMO
