Is it the regular rate since Canada is basically US (:P) , or will they charge extra ? If it is the latter, recommend me some super cheap but effective phone cards to this purpose. THanks Kanedians!

Calling cards are mad cheap. Here in UK, it costs 1/1.5p to call US/Canada. It must be close to free from there. Talking of free, I can call US and Canada free from my home phone.
