Desi Cartman
RAIPUR: A Chhattisgarh minister on Saturday hoisted the national flag upside down at the Independence Day function in Dantewada town of the state. However, the mistake was immediately spotted and rectified. Women and Child Development Minister Lata Usendi spotted the tricolour was upside down as the national anthem was being played after the flag's unfurling. A policeman who had fixed the flag the wrong way around has been suspended. "I immediately took notice of the mistake and corrected it," Usendi said over phone, adding a head constable responsible for adjusting the national flag upside down before hoisting, has been suspended and a show cause notice has been issued to district superintendent of police Amresh Mishra. When contacted, Mishra said the head constable Bhimaram Poyam has been suspended for the fault and a departmental inquiry initiated against him, but denied receiving any show cause notice himself. Dantewada town is located some 380 km south of capital Raipur. Link I know he made a mistake but his intention wasnt to harm anybody. These politicians who are suspending him throw mics at each other in the parliament, have murder charges but still never get suspended.
