Sending Yuvraj at #3

Yuvraj is known to struggle against spin, especially in SRL. Why not send him at #3 in the batting powerplays so that he can bash the bowling around? Dravid can handle the middle phase with running between the wickets and keeping the scoreboard going with Tendulkar.

Dravid shouldn't be coming in at #3 in ODIs. He did well as a #6 before and that is a good spot for him. Yuvraj/Dhoni should be #3 for us in ODIs depending on the situation.

No reason to expose him to the relatively new ball.[/quote'] #3 hasn't been specialized for India for a while? Who has been our #3 for the last year or so? Sometimes it's Gambhir, Dhoni, Raina, Yuvraj...all depends on the situation. Yuvraj effective against the old ball? I don't think so...in Sri Lanka the middle phase is dominated by spin bowling with the old ball. Something Yuvraj isn't too good at picking up. He has issues against the moving ball but he has a greater chance scoring against the fast bowlers then the spinners.

Dravid has never been as good a player in Powerplay as in the middle overs - I don't understand his role at #3 at the age of 36.
I can not understand his role in the ODI team in the first place.

Yuvraj is improving..no doubt about that. But that was on a rock solid pitch on the daytime, with the ball coming onto the bat. When the pitch will slow down, cut and break...then he'll struggle, just like everyone else. He was out in the last match off Vettori like that, chipping a catch.

Raina or Dhoni should have come 1 down..Rahul is so comfortable when the field spreads out..he is looking under total control..hope MSD realizes this soon and sends himself or Raina in the number 3 position for the final

Dravid is doing so much better after the fielding restrictions were lifted.
so it clearly shows that dravid should come after atleast 15 overs have been bowled. i hope the think tank makes note of this and changs the batting order for the final.. yuvi/raina/pathan.. anyone is fine.. except dravid at 3

plan seems' date=' dravid will anchor and ppl like Yuvi, Raina and Pathan will hit out.[/quote'] ya but you can't anchor when the powerplays are on....for two consecutive games, Tendulkar has looked in AWESOME touch...not taking any risks at all but still scoring run a ball, and Dravid has robbed him of momentum by taking time to settle and allowing the bowlers to put together some dot balls. Dhoni isn't the right man at #3 anymore as he's shifted his game to a more Dravid type role. Which is fine, when you have big guns like Yuvraj, Pathan, and to an extent Raina you can afford to have these type of players in the side. Once Sehwag comes back this lineup is looking sick. For the final though here's the lineup I would play. Dinesh Kartik Sachin Tendulkar Yuvraj Singh Rahul Dravid Suresh Raina Mahendra Singh Dhoni Yusuf Pathan Harbhajan Singh Rudra Pratap Singh Ishant Sharma Ashish Nehra
