I think a fair few of the players- the established ones certainly- are quite confident in their own right- Dravid, Yuv, MSD Sehwag even Gambhir. Doubt it will have that kinda effect In fact it should be quite galvanising playing alongside the greatest cricketer ever. And they shouldnt be too reliant on him either I would not have thought, not since at full strength there are a few pretty good ODI batsmen in our set up

Even among his most parallel contemporaries - Murali as a bowler ( really, a bowling Bradman recordwise ) , has achieved more than SRT as a batter. Played a similar talismanic role for the Rakshasas as a bowler that SRT has played as a batter for India. Only he plays for a country 50 times smaller.

SRK is a great actor no doubt...but c'mon, in the World?? Though I agree Sachin...one cannot imagine how it must be to bowl to or bat alongside a living, playing legend. Sad to see them all retire though one after the other, but I'm going to enjoy CT because this may be the last time we get to see Dravid and Tendulkar together in a big ODI tournament.

If you havent heard, Forbes named SRK in top 50 strongest people in the world only on his sheer fan following power. He was the only actor on the list. now dont tell me that you can analyze such personalities better than Forbes can

The argument was wrt to " greatest cricketer of all times" - and that would include bowlers as well.

I agree with the FACT that he is, without the a doubt one of the best that has ever graced films on screen...and hell I'll even say he is the best in Hindi cinema (yeah that's me saying SRK > AB), but I just thought saying he's the greatest ever in the World is a bit fanboyish :cantstop: And there's a difference between a fan and a fanboy/girl.

you do realize that Sachin holds almost 70 records as a batsman while Muralitharan holds less than 15 right? If Murali has highest wickets in both tests and ODIs then sachin has highest runs in both formats. I dont see how you can rank these two on one scale...I seriously think that you need to stop acting smart because you are making a fool out of your own self. Murali averages 36 against OZ. Murali averages 70 in OZ. Murali averages 30 against India. Murali averages 40 in India. Not the hallmarks of the greatest cricketer ever. Especially given the fact that OZ and India have been the 2 leading test playing teams during his career. He has done well against SA among the top teams. He is not even the greatest bowler of his generation. I would put McGrath, Akram ahead of him and maybe Warne too.

Please be careful when you compare countries now. At this level of the legendary comparision such as Sachin and Murali, they dont only have fans in SL and India but all over the world. They are not only cricketers representing their own countries but now they have transformed into much bigger icons for the whole world to enjoy their talent. It would be unfair to say that one or the other have bigger fan base because every cricket lover would appreciate their contribution by now. They are both big people in cricket and we all appreciate it but my concern is that you can not compare the two. both have different roles to perform and have performed very well.
