This is really an ill informed post. Kohli played 5 of his ODIs in the Sri Lanka series where everyone ended up with low averages and strike rates. He was one of the better performers in the series. He has played 3 ODIs since then - failed once, not out twice. Moreover, how many ODI players have a SR of greater than 90 anyways that you are setting such standards for Kohli?

I am not saying Kohli is not fit but I dont think it is wise to just concentrate on him and neglect the other youngsters like Jadeja etc. Everybody must be given chances to prove themselves and whoever performs the best will go through. And I am saying that Jadeja is a very good spinner and that comes handy too. Jadeja has also made 60 off 77 balls on his debut ODI match and that too at Premadasa in Sri Lanka batting second. And that was also a tough match where only Dhoni and Yuvi crossed 50 amongst the seniors and rest all could hardly even score double digits. Anyways I am just saying that Jadeja and Kohli are of the same age and are both upcoming talent. So, we should give chance to both of them and not concentrate on only one. And if you are saying about ODI players who have a SR of greater than 90 then there are many players in the Indian batting lineup itself who have that. I would say a good ODI batsman needs a SR of around 85-90 in the long run. And all the permanent members of the Indian ODI team have a strike rate of approx 85 or more. Only Dravid has a SR of 71 and so he is out of the ODI team. Rest I will give you the exact SR of the permanent ODI batsman in the Indian team: Veeru : 101.85 Dhoni : 90.15 Yuvi : 89.46 GOD : 85.74 Gauti : 84.56 Raina : 86.61 And these are the only 6 batsmen that can be called permanent batsmen in the ODI team. Three of them are in the 90 range or more and the rest three in the 85 or more range. I am not setting standards for any newcomer but everybody knows that India's batting is perhaps the strongest in the world and so newcomers have to match the standards to become a permanent member of the ODI team. I am just saying that any newcomer has to prove himself on all fields before making it into the team. I don't like the way in which Kohli is already taken by many posters as a permanent of the Indian team in the near future. And nobody mentions any of the other youngsters like Jadeja etc. who should also be given proper importance.

Dhoni should seriously bowl now! He has a good sense of what to do after being hit for boundary(ies). The first two balls were hammered but then the third and fourth balls were right in the block hole along with some swing and spin... atleast he has the guts to hold the seam up right on both fingers even after boundaries unlike our front-line bowlers.

well Jadeja was given chances,he failed both in T20 WC n WI series n was rightly.Kohli was given the opportunity first in Lanka n now in CT n he has made the mark on both th occasion.see the difference? but the reason Kohli is touted as future is because of his sheer talent n temperament.he may go the Rohit Sharma way or may reall shine,nobody knows.to know we'll have to give him ample chances
