Difference between Ishant and Sree Pluses Of Sree Conventional outswing Excellent slower one, Not afraid to pitch the ball up, Reverse swing, Bouncers that actually bounces at uncomfortable heights, Outstanding seam position (Ishant is simply a no match here) Accurate yorkers Pluses of Ishant Hitting the deck hard Ability to bring the ball back in If we talk about minuses Ishant has more. His idea of bouncer is pitching it short without even any effort. So ball will just sit up for batsmen. Inability to bowl conventional swing. Part of the reason Ishant is not a "pitch up" bowler. Lack of variations as a bowler Overall Sree is always better. All Sree has to do is maintain his pace not lose it.
I think thats selling Ishant quite short. There is no doubt Ishant has the ability to bowl very good conventional swing. You just need to look at what he did in the CB series in 2007/08 to see some examples of this. I think in Ishant's case its a situation where India have played so much limited overs cricket (which Ishant was never a standout in), either through IPL or T20 world cups or bilateral ODI series' or meaningless ODI tournaments that has made Ishant a very defensive bowler. He has been very much overbowled and needs to return back to the fearless attacking bowler he was when he started. I don't know the stats but Im pretty sure Ishant has played more games for India in the past 2 years than any of the other pace bowlers

Well he isn't the type of bowler who could scare batsmen with bouncers anyway..I remember in that SA tour he was consistently around the 140-142 kph mark and getting brilliant outswing. Thats the Sree I would like to see again. But perhaps its tough to get big swing in Indian conditions with SG ball..anyway glad to hear he was bowling up around that pace.
Sree fastest ball was 140.8km/h,as he said in the interview the faster you bowl on this pitch the easier it was for batsman ,as he gets confidence and secures a place he will only bowl faster, in mumbai he should be faster.

Great performance by Sree. He bowled with passion and fire and got life out of wicket in which other seamers (including the master of subcontinental conditions, Zaheer Khan) have struggled quite a bit. We needed this fillip from one of our fast bowlers after going through a barren patch in fast bowling in recent times. Sree has raised his hand and made himself count, which is great news for Team India. Its also quite relieving to know that he's finally begun to deliver on his promise. As much as there is absolutely no doubt that he has the talent and fire to deliver in international cricket, you could literally count with your fingers the number of matches he has made a match winning difference in the past. Its about time he converted promise into performance. Well bowled!
barren patch in odis any test we win our fast bowlers have always won it in the last few years. kumble and harbhjan just get the tailenders wicket and that makes there figures look good. you msut have seen dhopni giving bhajji, ojha overs at tailenders when they had done nothing to deserve it.sree might have gotten a 7 wicket haul.

^ The problem was not so much his antics alone. I think the public would have been quick to overlook his antics had his form been good but his form declined too which made it annoying when his antics continued. Like I have said before' date=' Sreesanth can win us a match out of nowhere but I sincerely hope he can use this to find some consistency which is what India needs from him because we have seen so many occassions in the past where he has come good one match and everyone jumps on the Sreesanth bandwagon and then a few games later he starts spraying the ball around and gets carted and people turn around and say he should be dropped.[/quote'] are you sleeping? he was injured he never was dropped ,he got one injury after another and after he proved his match fitness he came back.

ishant is faster than sree was at 21,he s young and will improve he is a seam bowler but he is equally talented as sree.

I would now prefer Zak, Sree and Nehra in the ODI squad and keep Ishant out for sometime. That would be an awesome bowling lineup and our fast bowling problem especially in ODIs might be solved very well. The only concern I had today was that Zak was bowling a lot of no-balls today and hope he corrects it before the next match. Rest it looks a solid bowling lineup. And bringing in Ojha instead of Mishra can also be fruitful and we can again be a great bowling unit in ODIs too.

Zaheer has looked quite ordinary. Might I suggest Ishant for Zaheer' date= maybe Zaheer can take some time off and attend Gambhir's sister's wedding
Might I suggest that you stop posting nonsensical babble here?

Shantakumaran Sreesanth's five for 75 against Sri Lanka in the second cricket test at the Green Park Stadium here Thursday were the best by any Indian bowler at home. Sreesanth surpassed Kapil Dev's five for 110 at Chennai in 1982-83. Sreesanth and Kapil are the only two Indian speedsters to bag five wickets in an innings against Sri Lanka in India.

^^ Hari' date=' Ishant looked worse than Zaheer at Ahmedabad, Zaheer in fact bowled some great spells there and took out Dilshan first ball here[/quote'] Was more Dilshan's mistake than any kind of great piece of bowling by Zaheer..did he look close to threatening compared to Sreesanth ?..

Sree has worked with Allan Donald for Warwickshire and look at the improvement....other bowlers have worked for 2 yrs under Prasad...their swing went away, speed dropped and so did their self confidence

Posted

^^^ yesterday Donald said that he would like to work with Gary Kirsten for the Indian team in a news channel interview.. so maybe we should hire him as the bowling coach.. anyways it will be better than Prasad at least
