Karachi, Oct 4 (PTI) Pakistan former captain and expert commentator Wasim Akram has been denied permission by the Indian government to do a commentary stint in the Champions League tournament starting in India from October 8. According to a report in the "Jang" daily newspaper, Wasim, who was in Johannesburg covering the Champions Trophy was all set to fly to India for his fresh stint in the Champions League T20 tournament. "But at the last moment he was informed by the organisers of the tournament that his services were no longer required in the tournament," the report said. "Wasim was surprised to learn about this and was later explained unofficially that the Indian cricket Board had told the organisers to avoid inviting Wasim to India because of policy instructions from the government," the report added.r

I dont think this decision is fair. Akram anyways stays in India most of the time. I dont understand why he is restricted from commentary. Not allowing Pakistani players is fine. Even not allowing Waqar Younis is fine but not allowing Akram who is one of the trainers at MRF Pace Academy in India is quite surprising.

Since Akram had all the freedom so far, unlike many other Pakistanis who were pursuing a profession in India, I believe there must be some reason for the new restrictions. May be the reason is supposed to be confidential.

I second that, His mind wants him to say something and he ends up telling something totally vague and irrelevant, the like of Lal and co. are boring but they atleast make sense (i.e when not talking about wildlife).
