Dude this is a tongue-in-cheek take on Tendulkar critics. Tendulkar was panned for not "winning" and taking the team to the win. This match showed that without the bowling support of McGrath & Warne and without match-winners like Gilchrist' date= Hayden etc. around him, Ponting would have been in the same boat as Tendulkar.

That is still justified to an extent especially if one considers the fact that some of the fanatics here hold him to such high esteem that there is SRT then day light then ...... then everyone else. With all things being same VVS did a better job of helping India win games in tougher situations than Tendulkar.

The only daylight between batsmen at the top is between Bradman and Tendulkar, who I believe to be the best after Bradman. As for 4th innings, I do agree that if I had to pick a batsman to bat for my life in the 4th innings I would probably go with Dravid or Laxman. But if I had to pick a batsman to bat for my life across a series, it would be Tendulkar (in case Bradman is not available).

Why do people rate Ponting so highly. He is a chimpanzee faced, George Bush look a like who loves arguing with umpires. He is a definite FTB who struggled against good bowling attacks and was made to look like amateur whenever he toured India. Most overrated player of all time.
