This a list of the highest scores in defeat. Tendulkar has 5(3 in the second innings) out of the top 17 - as good a stat as any to show how many times he has been let down by the rest of the team. http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/content/current/records/284237.html

Boy oh boy! It was 90s all over again. It's just unbelievable to think how one individual can be so much different than so many other superb players. I'm not just talking about the batting, just look at SRT's enthusiasm in the fielding as well. Throwing, catching, diving, still he gives his 100% in everything he does. This one reminds me of another gem against Pak, a similar knock of 140odd IIRC. People who have been lucky enough to avoid cricket during the 90s and constantly question the "worshipers" should go back and look at this match again. This was the story of the team for a decade, may be they'll have some idea why SRT is revered the way he is.

God, do you remember that finish? Balaji and Powar suddenly showing fight from nowhere (after most of the middle order had shown absolutely NONE), then taking us to the brink... Powar hitting it really cleanly and gutsily, before being let down by Nehra who like a brainless idiot decided to slog (with ONE hand!) and of course ****ed it up. Lasting memory of that game is Tendulkar looking gutted in the dressing room, Powar looking absolutely PISSED off at Nehra on the field... although at least that series turned out well.
