Sachinism
The English umpires, Richard Kettleborough and Richard Illingworth, have been promoted to the ICC International Panel with immediate effect. Kettleborough and Illingworth, who joined the ECB's first-class umpires list in 2006, will join their county colleagues Nigel Llong and Ian Gould on the International Panel. Llong has stood in six Test matches since joining the panel four seasons ago and will officiate in the forthcoming India v Sri Lanka Test series. Kettleborough, a 36-year-old former Yorkshire batsman, joins as an on-field umpire after making his ODI debut in the recent NatWest Series between England and Australia. Illingworth, who played in nine Tests as well as the 1992 World Cup final, has also been appointed to the International Panel as a third umpire. Chris Kelly, ECB's Umpires' Manager, said: "We are delighted that three of our first-class umpires have been nominated to serve on the International Panel. These appointments demonstrate the depth of umpiring talent within county cricket and reflect the excellent progress both umpires have made over the past four seasons." http://www.cricinfo.com/ci-icc/content/current/story/433608.html Link to comment
graphic23
Thats pretty cool. We need more people in the Elite Umpires division. Do you know anything about how they did at the domestic level, Sachinism? Link to comment
Sachinism
Haven't followed domestic cricket here much in the last 2 years. Though I here Kettleborough is good, lets see. Link to comment
Don Sharma
Peter Willey would be a good addition if only he doesn't mind travelling. BTW the Australian umpire Oxenford who officiated in the Pak-NZ series looked pretty good. Link to comment
ViruRulez
Do you mean the elite panel of umpires. I thought only 8 umpires were allowed in the Elite Panel and I dont think these two are that experienced to join that panel. Never heard or seen them before. Link to comment

He's the guy who said "not out" to umpteen stumping appeals in the Sydney match vs. Symonds. Link to comment

graphic23
Um, no. When the stumping is too close for the leg umpire, they go to the 3rd umpire. Link to comment

I also remember him taking a lot of time to give Hussey out in the final test. But he did quite well in the recent Pak- NZ series. Link to comment
