Vijay is class and nearly fufilled my prediction he will get a ton. The guy is run machine in Ranji, is perfect age and is technically good and mentally strong. Good mixture of solid defense and aggression. Also good athlete and runner between wickets. In aussie debut looked totally at ease and in control. Today was same story. He is without doubt first cab of the rank in line. He is going to be the best reserve batsman in world cricket and frankly would walk in to any other international side. He is class another gem. India are brilliant

Our batting bench has never looked stronger imo. Vijay, Yuvraj, Pujara, Rahane, Kohli and a lot of also ran's like Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik. Encouraging signs. Tbh our bowling also looked that way a couple of years back with a lot of bowler waiting to leave their mark. That ended up pretty shoddily.

I know Vijay has batted quite beautifully here. But really his technique of staying put in the crease and then try and negotiate all sorts of deliveries looks very risk when the ball really moves. This Australian attack - that too in India - is not the definitive test for any batsman, in my opinion. But Vijay can only play what is on offer! So, he has done his job. I will wait to see how he does in more challenging conditions as an opener before passing any judgment on his skills. Players like Sehwag and Laxman have shown us just how ineffective judging a player's effectiveness by his batting technique really is...So lets see.
