I still think pitch is not as flat as Ahmedabad or Kanpur. Too bad, SL got hit by Veeru bug, its still not flat by any means. Spinners were taken to cleaners. Faster bowlers had no clue where to bowl. Spinners need closing fielders, then only they can work on batsman getting out. Sehwag and Murli did not allow that. They had gameplan of disrupting both the spinners. From there on its all catch up. You will see SL fold under 200 in 2nd innings with fielders closing in.

Better bowling by spinners, especially Murli. Pitch aint that flat.

Plenty of turn for the spinners and some movement off the pitch for the seamers. And like any typical wicket with lots of red soil, it will start crumbling from day 4 onwards. We can already see the glimpses of that once Viru has got out.

Veeru just played exceptional innings by attacking Lankan bowlers. The pitch has plenty of help if know how to use it.
