Kohum
Do you still have the mother board manual? There are debug led's available on the back side [usually] and they may show what's wrong. If the front side light with the power button was blinking, I'd say power supply is the culprit right away. Does the CPU fan start up?
maggot_brain
So you don't even get the POST beep? Do you get any beeps at all? Usually a sequence of beeps is an error which your motherboard manual will give you the info on. At the bare minimum to boot a PC needs the following components working -Motherboard -Graphics Card -RAM -Power Supply Try swapping the RAM, graphics card and power supply to see if it boots. Swap one at a time though. If this doesn't work then there's something wrong with the motherboard and it could be a variety of things, so try my suggestion first and report back. ViruRulez
I got it solved a couple of times in my archaic computer by fixing the RAMs to the RAM slots which were a bit loose. I had a single beep in that case after which the desktop screen did not come up. Never had any such problems with my laptop however.
