Aussies got out of jail in this one. http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/64100.html Sehwag spanked Mcgrath's last over for 2 fours..chasing a easily gettable 230..before rain saved Punter and co. Winning this would have denied Aussies their first test series victory in India for 40 years.
Can't blame the rain - we let Martyn and Gillespie make merry for 2 sessions and I am not sure we would have chased down that 230. The Aussie bowling was in top form at that time and we were missing Tendulkar. It would have been a thrilling finish nonetheless.

Martyn batted superbly and Gillespie has always been a stubborn tail end SOB with the bat. But there is absolutely no reason to justify your pessimism if you recollect how blunt Sehwag made the Aussie bowling appear. He was in red hot form too in that match - Mcgrath din't even have the balls to look Sehwag in the eye in India's 4th innings chase ( which he does as a matter of habit when he gets attacked early on ). And when Sehwag is in that kind of form - facting bring on Marshall and Lillee and he'll kick their collective ******s too. We would have smoked the target in less than 2 sessions, the way he was going. I clearly remember Dean Jones mentioning how Sehwag's aggression had got to the Australian's and how the genius was looking them sternly in the eye - without any response. How un-australian.

i too agree .. earlier comment was a bit pessimistic .. we needed under 200 on last day and pitch was still good to bat .. if dizzy and tailenders can manage to bat an entire session , then u have an idea ..

When Aussies win they make films and call it final frontier and what not , when they lose they say well we didn't have our best team,or Shane Warne was injured but he still played like in 1998/2001 according to Ian healy.or blame weather it was too hot and food was not good.

You forget your two frontline wicket takers and run getters - Bucknor and Bowden .... watch the B'lore Test ball by ball starting with the very first ball to understand .... gotta give credit where its due .... :giggle:
That guy bucknor cost us quite a few wins, remember 2004 sydney, he didnt give any LBWs even though they were plumb.Aussies have to thanks their lucky stars that that guy was working for them.
