I'm Vic through and through. I truly don't think we hate SA half as much as they hate us. That hatred is mostly to do with the AFL, but Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United also have a healthy rivalry in the A-League (which includes two grand final meetings). In recent times Victory have won the last eight games between the two sides but not too many of them have been blowouts. I'm going to the soccer next weekend (Victory v United), but I'm sure they'll be showing the T20 final on one screen in the Locker Room.

Bushrangers book Champs League spot Bushrangers book Champs League spot Victoria Bushrangers enter KFC T20 Big Bash final after registering a comprehensive six-wicket win over Queensland Bulls. The Bushrangers chased down the target of 150 comfortably with seven balls to spare at the Gabba on Tuesday night. And now the Bushranger will face Southern Redbucks in the Big Bash final on January 23. An unbeaten 60 off 39 balls from David Hussey, which included three fours and three sixes, set up the victory for Victoria, even after the Bulls managed to take four early wickets. Chasing a modest target, Victorian opener Aaron Finch was lucky to be dropped by Nathan Rimmington twice in the first three overs. But he failed to capitalise on the advantage and fell for 22. Ross Taylor (5) also could not fire and got trapped in front with a peach of a delivery in the seventh over. With Victoria needing 82 runs from 60 balls, the Bulls got the much needed breakthrough by sending back Brad Hodge for 30 off 28 balls. However, Victorian captain Cameron White and David Hussey held on for sometime before the former's wicket gave Queensland hopes yet again. Top Performer: David Hussey But Hussey got going and he smacked three sixes to reduce the run-rate considerably. And then along with Andrew McDonald, he shared a valuable 41-run partnership to guide the team to an easy win. Earlier, after the top-order collapse, an unbeaten 70 from Queensland wicket-keeper Ben Dunk helped the Bulls post a respectable total of 149 for five. When the Bulls were struggling at 54 for five, Dunk along with James Hopes (44 not out) steadied the ship for their team with an unbeaten 95-run stand. Opting to bat, Queensland lost experienced openers Chris Simpson (17 off seven balls) and Lee Carseldine (7) cheaply as Dirk Nannes struck twice in quick succession. To add to the Bulls' woes, even Andrew Symonds failed to come up with a face-saving knock and in the next over John Hastings bowled short and caught Symonds (1) off his own bowling. It’s all about numbers With Queensland sitting at 3-52, Glen Batticciotto and Craig Philipson needed to consolidate the innings but the duo too, soon followed their teammates inside the dressing room to leave the Bulls reeling at 54 for five. And just when things were looking totally out of gear for the Bulls, Dunk and Hopes played superb knocks to bail their team out of trouble. Dunk and Hopes steadied the innings and the 100 came up when the former started to fire all guns. Dunk dispatched Hastings for consecutive boundaries. Duck then got a life when Aaron Finch dropped his catch at the start of the 16th over and he took charge. The wicketkeeper-batsman smacked the first six of the match over long-on in the 18th. In the process, he also brought up his maiden half-century off just 34 balls in the same over. Dunk and Hopes took 15 off the last over to take the team to 149 in their allotted 20 overs. The drought has now stretched to a 14th year. Cricket Australia plans to strengthen the security presence at the ground for tomorrow's Australia Day limited-overs match between the national side and Pakistan. Trouble began around the 15th over of the innings after SA had lost the wickets of Mark Cosgrove and Kieron Pollard to all but hand the game to Victoria. "It was at a point of the game where the South Australian fans were clearly aware that the nature of the game was such that SA wasn't going to win it," said Cricket Australia spokesman Peter Young. Visiting captain David Hussey returned some of the abuse he received while catching Pollard on the boundary rope to make the game safe, and said he was unhappy his players had been targeted on a night that was otherwise a firm reinforcement of Victoria's depth and big-occasion temperament. "They were quite boisterous. I'm a little bit disappointed, let's just say that," Hussey said. "They threw a few coins at the players, which I'm disappointed about. "But we came here with a purpose and I thought we played pretty much perfect cricket." This year's domestic T20 tournament has seen a succession of huge crowds totalling 308,590 spectators, and SA's home matches were witnessed by packed houses, albeit at reduced capacity. But the poor behaviour during the latter part of the final was denounced by the SA cricket association. "We certainly don't condone that sort of behaviour at all," a SACA spokesman said. Victoria have now won four of the five domestic T20 tournaments.
