vvvslaxman Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Gambhir has two phases in his career. One before 2007. One after that. In the initial phase he didn't play Malinga. But he played Gul a bit. He was not that dominating then. His records against these two fast bowlers is really good after his return in both T20 and ODIs Before 2007 Gambhir vs Gul 32 balls 12 runs in ODIs. After 2007 In ODIs Gambhir vs Gul 45 balls 63 runs Gambhir vs Malinga 72 balls 85 runs In T20s Gambhir vs Gul 13 balls 20 runs Gambhir vs Malinga 11 balls 31 runs Overall stats after 2007 Gambhir vs Gul 58 balls 83 runs Gambhir vs Malinga 83 balls 116 runs
urbestfriend Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 ^^A weird stat...Sample pre-2007 is too small to come to any meaningful conclusion.
spectre Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Nice observation there vvs Gambhir is now a complete player, excellent against both pace and spin
vvvslaxman Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 ^^A weird stat...Sample pre-2007 is too small to come to any meaningful conclusion. I think he was dropped for a while after his first stint. After his come back he has dominated two of the meanest limited over bowlers.
vvvslaxman Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 ^^A weird stat...Sample pre-2007 is too small to come to any meaningful conclusion. That is true. He was new then. His role was different back then.

I remember he saying that cementing his position has helped him in his consistency. But I'm of the opinion that this cannot be proved by this stat because (1) pre-2007 sample is too small. (2) We don't know about the match situation and pitch condition (3) Bowler's ability might change with time

If yes can you tell me... Thanks... on subjet, i think they are both good T20 bowlers only, not so good in ODI's, especially with the new ball, and it's when they ball to ghambir... But i admit ghambir is a fine player so far...
