But the way Indian news channels and Indian media pushed for justice in the Ruchika Girhotra case is simply incredible. The case was almost turning out to be another case when the powers-that-be and corruption nearly made a mockery of the molestation, death and traumatizing of a school girl by a senior police officer. As most of you might have heard about this case, former Director General of Police Rathore had molested a 13 year old girl Ruchika Girhotra when she was a tennis player. Then she tried to report it but even an FIR was not filed because he was a high ranked police officer. The former DGP then threatened the family and got her rusticated from school without any reason. Then he also got Ruchika's brother arrested and beaten up and traumatized saying that until his sister drops the case against Rathore he would have to face the police rage. Ruchika Girhotra committed suicide at last as her family was also in a mess and the former DGP Rathore was not even affected but all harassment were done to her family even though she was the victim. After 19 years, DGP Rathore merely got 6 months imprisonment for the case. But it is only because of our news channels and media that the case was reopened again and fresh FIRs filed. Now the whole of India is united for giving justice to Ruchika's family. Frankly speaking I am really proud today to say that even though our news channels have been creating masala news but they have also done some excellent work in helping people get justice. Let us hope DGP Rathore faces the harshest of legal sentence for his heinous crimes. Reminds me of a scene from 'mumbai meri jaan' movie scene where the news channel for which soha ali khan wrks for take a sms poll on whether soha should share her grief with everyone on tv or something like that All indian media newschannel are **** Forget the hindi news channel they are ****. Out of the english news channel only ndtv channel is decent. Rajdeep sardesai keeps on shouting all the time on how his news channel is always the first to brealk the news when the fact is the news has been shown on other channels hrs back.Arnab goswami of timesnow keeps on forcing his views on the viewers and the panelist on his show. Headlines today is english version of aajtak and newsx is just another wannabe news channel.

But still without the news channels, Ruchika case could have never reopened and fresh FIRs could not have been filed. It is only because of the news channels that there is hope for justice for Ruchika once again. Whether you agree with me or not but Indian media is turning out to be the most powerful force in India. A decade ago you could not see any fight for Ruchika or anybody else but today at least the politicians, big officers and other corrupted people fear media to some extent. Today any big politician or any other biggie cannot use his financial and other powers as easily as it used to be previously. They know that media is looking for new stories and if the news channels get hold of them then they would have to face the wrath of the Indian people soon and become a national villain. So, whatever be the case but still news channels has somehow helped the society in some way at least. @suma I agree with you that Rajeev and Arnab are sensationlizing news to improve their TRP and hindi news channels are anyways masala channels. I also personally like mainly NDTV in English news channels and Zee News in Hindi news channels as these two try to stick to news as much as possible. But Times Now and CNN IBN are the most powerful news channels in India with correspondents and news partners from all parts of the world. Times Now (Arnab's channel) especially has access to almost any person in the world and has got the most high profile interviews and guests from India and outside. So, their news and fights for justice etc. are taken with much more importance.

Always shouting from the rooftop , cnn-ibn is the first in this , first in that, favoring one party over the other erc. His real color came out when ibn refused to air 'cash in paliament' scandal. Arnag goswami is OK, but really irritating when he is anchoring some discussion, never allows guests to complete , intervenes constantly and force his views. NDTV, though biased, is better.

His logic was simple- if he is scoring more, he must be better. The dumbass kept shouting for a couple of months and when he found no one to support his theory, he shut up.

The dumbass kept shouting for a couple of months and when he found no one to support his theory, he shut up.[/quote'] The worst part I find about Rajdeep is that he keeps on shouting on every news show that every breaking news is first telecast on CNN-IBN whereas most other channels already telecast that news.. even if they show it first then too it does not make sense to shout the same thing hundred times every day :giggle:
