VRV Singh Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Had much respect for Streak. But of those it's Andy Flower. I like how Taibu made the poal.
vamos_rafa Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 When we were young we used to call the flower brothers as and flower and gand flower :--D Coming back to the OP, Andy flower is whom I voted for, he somehow had had the knack of screwing up India first as a player and now as a coach as well. Other good players were, Grant Flower, Heath Streak, Dave Houghton and Neil Johnson. Murray Goodwin was also a very good player. There was a time when Tatenda Taibu was the only saving grace for them and now I think Brandon Taylor has taken over that role.
Lord Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Andy Flower like Brendan Taylor from current ones
Raghav_12 Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;filter=advanced;orderby=batting_average;qualmin2=1500;qualval2=runs;team=9;template=results;type=batting Among all the players to play a test match for Zim and scored atleast 1500 runs, Andy Flowers batting average is more than 70% higher than any other batsman. Amount of lead is very much similar to what Sir Don Bradman enjoys over any other batsman who has played cricket till now. So for me, in annals of Zim cricket, A Flower would be revered as greatest player ever to play cricket for Zim and rightly so. His post retirement stint with England as coach also hasn't done any harm to his reputation.
bulbul Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Andy flower...no doubt about that then Comes..Neil Johnson,Murray Goodwin.... where is Andy blignuat now a days (Sean Ervine settled in UK)

bulbul Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 zc yet to pay him his salary, he is a farmer nowdays. he is into Modeling before / during playing Cricket... when seing Farming I remember Eddo Barndes :cantstop: there is Sledging story between him and McGrath ...forgot that
StatsRock Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Kevin Curren and Duncan Fletcher were pretty good players. Curren almost pulled it off in that game where Kapil hit 175*
Rightarmfast Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Cant argue with Andy Flower there. However, I was tempted to vote for Heath Streak . A highly underrated player but a genuine allrounder. I remember he had it in him to bowl around 90 mph and also contribute with the bat regularly. Just like Kapil was voted the best cricketer for India, on the same lines I would rate Streak as the best Zim player.
