Well played he scored 150. Bhajji was smacked, he shouldn't have given the flying kiss, after that he just smashed him for sixes. Guess Tamim is straight so no chance Bhajji.

The guy's talented and he's aggressive to boot. The sort of opener you'd want in your line-up. If he's able to temper his short-selection just a little bit, there's no reason why he cannot average 44-45 in test cricket. A 150 against India is a BIG performance. This should give him a lot of confidence and help him jumpstart his test career to greater things.

The talent is there, but is the temperament there to do this match after match. Even in this match whenevr he was tied down for 2-3 balls he tried to do somrthing silly. I hope he can be a successful opener for Bangladesh.

If he's able to temper his short-selection just a little bit, there's no reason why he cannot average 44-45 in test cricket. A 150 against India is a BIG performance. yes, tamim had been talking about the need to occupy the crease for longer periods of time in tests. he hit 2 debut half centuries in his very first Test at Dunedin and then failed to convert numerous starts to fifties until the WI tour. there he first spoke of his intention to play "longer innings" and ended up handling Roach and Sammy reasonably well and hit his first ton, 128. he again spoke of temperement before the India tests, got to 50 once, threw his wicket away, but this time capitalized. I wouldn't criticize him much at all, because even the Little Master has used 4 lives on his way to 2 tons this series, with the second ton coming on this flat surface. the only thing i would criticize is him going for harbhajan's bait after the kisses. he pulled it off, but that will not always be the case.

Yep, cant disagree with you too much. He's still only 20, so the youthful impetuousness is written all over his batting. But he's certainly one for the keeps. He has all the shots, both against pace and spin and above all, has that fantastic aggressive mindset. Maybe he should be given some position of responsibility within the team, like the vice-captaincy. That may spur greater responsibility in his batting. In Tamim, Shakib and Mahmadullah, B'desh certainly have 3 very good batsmen. Not sure bout the rest though. You wont win too many test matches with Imrul Kayes opening and guys like Shahriar Nafees and Junaid Siddiqui at no.3. They frankly have pathetic techniques against the moving ball.

nafees a bit early to judge since he just came back from the ICL although he has been weak at the opening spot before...nonetheless hsi test record isn't that bad comapred to the others. i agree about imrul, and don't really know what to think about Junaid...i thought he did a fantastic job of holding up one end with tamim, and he's had ugly successes against NZ and SA in those countries. i'd keep him until someone better comes along. not sure how *good* mahmudullah is or will be...he's certainly doing the job at his position in ODIs and Tests, but you have to remember that he's taking on tired bowlers with an old ball. i'm not trying to detract from his performances, but i think he's much more of "application" player than a "talent" one. i doubt he could replicate these scores batting in the top 5. rahim on the other hand i think is the most technically compact batsman we have. he's got all the shots, against pace and spin, and is solid in attacking them all as well. i wish he would bat in the top 5, but since he's the WK thats out of the equation. the only weakness he has is a high backlift that leaves him vulnerable to fast and full deliveries...but i thnk he's been working on it, and it would be nice to see him bat against express bowlers like johnson and steyn to see if he's really worked that out.

this is the problem with Pak and B'desh...they are always looking for ways to "criticize" or "blame" their players. How about just supporting and backing them whole heartedly for once? FFS the guy hit a 150 against the best test team.

Tamim, Shakib, Mahmadullah, Mushfiq and Ashraful (to an extent) are all international class. But guys like Nafees, Kayes, Siddiqui and Raqibul simply dont deserve spots, that too when they occupy some vital spots in the top-order.

i'm not at all blaming or criticizing tamim, perhaps those 2 balls were there to be hit. i'm just giving the honest opinion. his 151 was chanceless barring that tendulkar almost-drop, but he did play a few unnecessary strokes - of course i know that even the besst batsmen do that, but it doesn't make those strokes any more necessary. and everyone blames their players - even sachin doesn't escape flak here on ICF.
