Its not like I was trying to massage the stats as I believe I made it clear by stating that it was a apples-to-apples comparison after you started whingning about SRT's numbers being high due to no.of matches .. which is why I decided to start from when "your hero" started playing ... But if there is anything funny its you who is trying to come to the term with the fact that RD faced the same BD attack as well but in order to prop up numbers of your "hero" .... And BTW your reason to include Zimbabwe while discarding BD is what ? Perhaps because it furthers your heros numbers ? anyhow heres the numbers for both of them without BD and Zim : SRT : 6369 at 52.50 and a SR of 54.46 RD : 5511 at 55.66 and a SR of 41.58 SRT better than RD given the faster SR even though the avg is slightly lower. We have lost a test series there and even under Ganguly's , Steve Waugh beating side, we managed only to draw the series in 2001/02. That's the reason.

I think BCCI led by Dalmiya had at some point of time neglected tests and focussed only on the money spinner Onedayers. that deprived SRT of many tests when he was in roaring form. the tennis elbow, toe injury and other setbacks robbed him of 7-9 tests too. I would not be surprised if both played equal number of tests after Pontings debut and may be after the 1st hundred of Ponting. Thanks in adavance... (earlier asked in another thread..,reposting)
