saneindian
A fracture in the jaw means at least 2-3 weeks of recovery period. With all the dentures they insert, you are allowed to take only liquid food for 7-10 days , you cant talk properly and the pain is severe. Wsh Rahul a very speedy recovery. Link to comment
Gunner_Mania
We need him for the SA tour You can forget him for the SA tour. he is definitely be going to ruled out 2-3 weeks at the minimum. The first test starts in just about 10 days time. No way is he going to make the first test. "He has got quite a nasty injury to his face," Kirsten said. "He is currently staying in Bangladesh. Later, he will consult a specialist to find out what needs to be done and how long he would be out. For Rahul, we don't have the long-term prognosis. Link to comment

Ram
Breaking NEWS! - South African cricketers seen 'celebrating' Cape Town, Jan 26 It is being widely reported that many members of the South African test squad due to travel to India shortly for a two-test match series against the no.1 ranked test team, were seen dancing outside their homes and seen distributing sweets to kids. It is of particular interest that three three of South African faster bowlers picked for this tour, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel and Wayne Parnell, were seen dancing longer and harder than the others. When asked about this bizarre development, a key member of the South African team management who did not want to identify himself, had this to say - 'All the speculation that the reports of injuries to some key members of the Indian batting unit like Dravid, Laxman, Sachin and Yuvraj is the source of this new found joy is completely baseless. This dance routine is part of the radical new measures newly appointed coach Corrie Van Zyl has instituted to build team harmony and chemistry. Rahul wanted to play: Krish - Team for the second Test after getting fitness updates: Chief selector Mumbai: Rahul Dravid, who fractured his jaw during his 111 in the second Test against Bangladesh, had made himself available for the upcoming two Tests against South Africa, but the selectors decided to give him some rest as doctors felt it is better not to play him at the moment. “Dravid was very keen to play but the doctors have advised him to rest as a precaution,” chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth said, after the selection committee meeting here Thursday to pick the squads for the first Test and the Board President’s XI match that precedes the Test. A statement issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed that Dravid had been advised three weeks’ rest, more or less ruling him out of the second Test as well. “We have selected the best possible team considering the number of injuries the team has had. This team is just for the first Test. We’ll decide on the team for the second Test after getting a fitness update (on the injured players),” Srikkanth said. More... achilles
One of the few times that Kris has actually done the wise thing :giggle: If RD would've played with a suspect jaw, SA would've peppered him with bouncers galore. Its good to see he's been given the rest that he so deserves. If I were the selector and India's freedom was on the line, I would pick Rahul Dravid and be rest assured that even if he has a broken arm, he'll give it his all. Link to comment
