Dravid has been kept in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Square Hospital in Dhaka under observation as a precautionary measure. "He is comparatively better than before," Fazlul Haq, the attending doctor in the hospital, told Cricinfo. "He will be here for a night and he is likely to be discharged tomorrow." Asked whether it was a fracture, Haq said: "It's not exactly a fracture, more a sort of severe sprain. We are just keeping him here as a precaution." It was also learnt that Mostafa Kamal, the BCB president, and the Indian high commissioner had gone to the hospital to check on Dravid's health. The incident occurred in the second over with the new ball, the 82nd of the innings, and with Dravid batting on 111 when he ducked into the bouncer. The ball didn't climb as high as he thought it would and hit his ear guard as he tried to get his head out of the way. India already have injury worries with Yuvraj Singh suffering a minor hand injury, which kept him away from batting at his normal position today. He was seen padded up when night-watchman Harbhajan Singh was batting. Yuvraj was expected to visit the hospital in the evening but Arshad Ayub, the India team manager, confirmed that he will come out to bat tomorrow. "He is okay and will bat tomorrow," Ayub said.

Rahul Dravid injures jaw K. C. Vijaya Kumar Share Rahul Dravid, who was struck on the upper jaw and retired hurt during the second Test here on Monday, was taken to a nearby hospital and has been kept under observation. X-rays have been taken and Indian team manager Arshad Ayub said: “Any further decision on Dravid will be taken after the X-ray reports come.” Later, speaking over phone, the Bangladesh Cricket Board president Mustafa Kamal said that Dravid is recovering well and that a decision on him leaving for India is something that is up to the concerned player and Indian team management to dwell upon. “I met and just spoke to Dravid and he is feeling fine and is having his meal. My doctors have told me that there are a couple of light fractures, nothing serious. He will be fine,” Kamal said. On his alleged quotes that Dravid will return home, that were attributed in a few television channels, Kamal said: “I meant that my doctors have told me that Dravid can go back if he wants tomorrow. It’s a decision for Dravid and the Indian board to make. There is nothing to worry, everything is fine. He will be discharged tomorrow.” Meanwhile Yuvraj Singh, who is nursing a minor injury in his hand, did not come to bat while M. Vijay and Harbhajan Singh walked out ahead of him. However Ayub said that Yuvraj is fine. “Yuvraj is okay and he will bat tomorrow,” Ayub said.

Wishing him a quick recovery! Btw, whats the use of wearing a helmet, if they dont serve the purpose of protecting the batsmen? They should look to fundamentally alter helmet design to make it more robust and effect.
I think there are better helmets now. We need to upgrade.
