gaurav92
S.Badrinath had made his ODI debut back in 08 against Lankans, where he bailed India out of a difficult position of 75/5 chasing 143 along with the captain. He made sure that he is out there and will not throw his wicket away.He made his ODi debut as a "rescuer".He was unbeaten on 27. Scorecard Now in this test match, he has done the same.Along with Viru he has bailed India out of a situation 56/3 to somwwhat better.Again he has played as a "rescuer".So is he the next big thing after Dravid, VVS retires. Will he play the anchor role for India.Looking at his temperament i think so.What do you say? saneindian
He has grabbed his chance well. Has played with a lot of assurance so far. Looks a perfect fit for the longer format and could definitely do what Hussey did for the Aussies when the likes of Hayden, Langer and co were in the twilight of their careers. Link to comment
gaurav92
^Absolutely. He can play as a rescuer and be consistent Link to comment
Ranjha
He played good but a 50 doesn't mean he will replace Yuvraj for some time...But it will be a good competition between the two and lets see who wants it more. On the other hand, Murli and Saha.....brothers in crime. Link to comment
yoda
Well he was dumped for good in ODIs after that. Link to comment
Gambit
The last time we fielded two debutants in a test match against South Africa, we were pulverised. http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63870.html Link to comment

If the need of the hour is for a specialist batsman then there is no comparison between Badri and Yuvraj. Link to comment
diegovegaz
more than anything else, in the absence of dravid and laxman, and gamhbir dismissed, he has the ability to stay at the wicket for long periods of time this is all he is required to do bat time Link to comment
