When was the last time our bowling looked so toothless ? We deserve a 2-0 drubbing.

>You look at other countries, see an Aussie newcomer like Harris pawn the Pakistanis, you see Petersen coming in to a foreign land and score a 100 in front of a hostile crowd- where's the talent in our ranks to do that? LOLzer. Alviro Peterson average 37 in first class cricket. If he was newcomer that would set world on fire, he would have been in the XI long time back. SA have been struggling to find partner for Smith for long time. What great do you see from Harris? He is just another bowler. Why self loathing Doctorsaheb?
Are you deliberately being thick, Kabira? The Aussie & SA selectors saw something in these guys, thrust them in the limelight, and they grabbed the opportunity with both hands. If you assume that our selectors have chosen the cream of our young talent, and then you look at how these youngsters have a deer in the headlights look on the big stage, you will understand my POV. The problem is that you guys would even gee up the qualities of your own shyte. Don't expect me to conform to that kind of thinking.

Dhondhy you have lost it here. So negative you alomst wonna make me cry. Raina and Sharam are amazing talents. You see them in a couple of years, they are just gonna get better and better. There is Kohli as well. Vijay will be class, I have seen enough to be convinced of him. In bowling we have Ishant and the man I am backing to come back in RP. Anyway we have never had pacers and we are No 1 in the world:two_thumbs_up:

South Africa do not have any openers, they have been recyling crap for long time. After Kirsten they found Smith. They have recyled McKenzie and others. Alviro has played lot of games and just average 37 in their domestic. He should have been plumb in front against Mishra (the ordinary bowler). Had we done our homework, he was out in first over if short leg ws there. I am sorry, both are ordinary. Btw, same australian selectors gave opportunity to Lewis, remember that guy? They even select White as spinner in India, remember that?? Alviro scored ton, great job, Harris took wickets great job. But are they long term prospects??

Yaar Shwetabh, why did you start jumping up and down so soon? don't you know your Indian team? When Sehwag bats, it's springtime, the sun is shining, the pitch is a bed of roses, and others tag along. He gets out, and it's a whole new game. The pitch is turning, Steyn looks a demon and SA are rampant again. Would have got a double but for Sachin's constant emphasis on circumspection. He usually takes bowlers apart at that stage. You have also seen India's next generation- Mishra, Sharma, Badri, Vijay. Do you still think my pessimism is misplaced?
Dhondy, perhaps I am looking at this all the wrong way. A lot here seem to be overtly worried about replacements for our middle order, lack of depth in talent, lack of express bowlers etc. I don't know, I just cannot get myself too bothered about it. Sure, I give the new guys a look interested in how they can measure up against the best in sport, but if they can't they can't. I have followed a pretty mediocre team for years on end and with much more passion than I can muster now, when in fact they are genuinely good.. Finally, I have a team which can be called the best in the world with good reasons. It might not last long, but I am more concerned about enjoying those moments than fretting about doomsday scenarios which might hit us two years later and there is a good possibility that they might. What irks me is running down the current set of champions we have and who have worked so for hard for years at end to get to where they are and knock them so bad after one poor test match in 18 months. A poor test induced by the entire middle order being jettisoned and one Saha playing as a specialist batsman. India is not unique to these problems - just as an example how minor injuries can impact the team look at how Boucher's back trouble led to deVilliers missing a stumping of Sehwag and a fractured pinkie which took Smith out of the slips led to Duminy spilling a sitter. This from a side which is miles ahead of India in the fielding stakes.

Uncleji, 301 runs added for the loss of a tail ender. And your boy wasn't even on the balcony!
