Umpire Sanjay Hazare

I was watching the highlights of the 3rd ODI and the umpiring of Sanjay Hazare reminded me of some of the clowns we used to put up as umpires. Most notable was his decision as leg umpire regd A Mithun's dismissal. He thought of giving it a no-ball and then raised his finger to give it out! It looked really ridiculous!! He also missed a leg side catch that Yusuf Pathan had edged, but Mithun's dismissal looked really funny and showed how poor quality our domestic umpires are if this guy is supposed to be one of the best.

I am sorry but Hazare is a good umpire. He has always appeared confident, in control and physically fit too. He reminds me of Taufel in a way. I am definitely not saying he is anywhere near as good as Taufel. That man is better than many machines :). Ian Gould too did a very good job throughout the Test series. We must feel for the officials too, you know. When they do well, they dont get too much attention. But when they dont, all hell breaks loose. So they are basically having to run hard to stay put in the same place - like they are on some sort of treadmill!
