vvvslaxman Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 For one dayers he is a dead cert. About Tests he needs to tone down a bit. He doesn't have to be absolute master against short balls. Steve waugh, Mark waugh, Azharuddin never were masters of short balls. He just has to cultivate a temperament where he could hide this weakness. Or he can change his technique. Rightnow he gets into one of the most awkward position to play short balls. For short balls you should go back not come forward to give yourself time. He plays shot balls like he plays lofted on drive. Unless the ball is very slow you are going to miscue it. He can make this technical adjustments easily. Dravid, Tendulkar are good exambles of balance while playing short balls. Among the modern Dhoni, Karthik, Kohli are in better position when they play short stuffs. Balance is the key.
