That doesnt make sense, why vote 4 'drill baby drill' if he cannot deliver on the idealistic campaign promises. Thats what campaigns r about, repubs can suggest they'll lower taxes and reduce deficit at the same time, the dems will promise clean energy without additional costs. A politician is forced to take the middle path and achieve some progress rather than consider idealism as the only goal and go nowhere.

Now listen..the current bill passed with a margin of only 7 votes. Some 43 democrats voted against the bill. With the single player option, there is no way the bill would have passed. Obama realized this...it was hard enough to pass the bill with multiple options.
