"God rest her soul," Biden said Wednesday night as he introduced Cowen and President Barack Obama. He quickly caught himself and noted that it's Cowen's father who is no longer living. Of the prime minister's mother, Biden said, "God bless her soul." Biden then cited the Irish proverb that "a silent mouth is sweet to hear" and yielded the podium to the president. Not really surprising - considering that this is the same guy who urged a wheelchair-bound gentleman to stand up and cheer during a campaign stop. Democrats were nervous that we'd have an idiot for a VP if McCain was elected; looks like y'all got your wish anyway :--D

People mock Palin for being a loose-mouth, but this guy's legendary when it comes to verbal bloopers.
