Leaving ball biting aside, Afridi is the most aggressive cricketer in the current line up. He is the best choice for Pak right now.

Pakistan WC T20 squad named , Afridi to captain Shahid Afridi will be in charge of Pakistan's defense of the World Twenty20 title in the Caribbean after he was finally named captain by the Pakistan board. Afridi has been Pakistan's captain in the format since the last year, but was temporarily out of the picture after he was found guilty of ball-tampering in an ODI at Perth earlier this year. He was banned for two T20Is by the ICC and was further punished by the board, who handed him a hefty fine. But he has widely tipped as the leading candidate over the last few days. The announcement completes Pakistan's 15-man squad for the tournament, due to begin at the end of April, which was announced earlier this month, unusually without a captain. link

As a Pakistani i am happy, because he looks to have a good aptitude to lead a side. I hope he does well and is also named for the other formats, at least ODI's. Still i reckon he has done some stupid things, especially this ball tampering, but Pakistan don't have many choices to look at whereas captaincy is concerned.

The fact this guy is still playing cricket let alone captaining xplains what a crappy team Pakistan has been.
Summed up in a nut shell! Although could have added that he is their number 1 hero explains what a crappy team pakistan are

I am sure you guys don't hate him so much... He is a good player but have litle moments of deconcentration...
Why would we hate him. He is not worth being hated. Just that it never ceases to amaze me how an utterly mediocre player like Afretard get worshipped. Lot of Bangladesh players are far better than him.

Why would we hate him. He is not worth being hated. Just that it never ceases to amaze me how an utterly mediocre player like Afretard get worshipped. Lot of Bangladesh players are far better than him.
care to explain how, he is loved every where, some commentators say cricket is not cricket without afridi, some(ravi shastri) labelled him as boob boom afridi, we call him a beast, he has given you so many bad times that nobody can imagine, and given us precious moments to look back at and is a perfect choice for future captain.
